Description

This 10-day tour allows you to discover the natural wonders of Botswana without sacrificing the convenience of staying in cozy lodges.

Our tour starts from Maun which can be considered the gateway to Okavango delta.

As the jouney goes on, you will visit wild and unspoiled places, seeing lions, elephants, giraffes and hippos.

Our trip concludes with two days of game safari and boat safari, exploring Chobe park on the banks of Chobe river up to wonderful Victoria Falls, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

  • Day 1

     

    Maun

    Our guides pick up the guests at the Maun airport. After the transfer to the lodge where we stay overnight, there is a tour briefing. You can have a delightful afternoon thanks to a panoramic flight over the Okavango Delta or with an excursion in Mokoro.

  • Day 2

    Guma Lodge

    At dawn, we head for Guma Lodge , located about 300 km west of Maun.

    We have a lunch stop before reaching the camp : we are at the threshold of Okavango which is the wildest area of Botswana.

    At the sunset, we end our day with a typical boat trip, enjoying an aperitif. Then we dine and stay overnight in this lodge.

     

    Day 2

  • Day 3

     

    Lodge Swampstop

    After breakfast (milk, tea, toast bread and eggs) we can arrange canoe or mokoro excursions, accompanied with local guides.
    In the early afternoon, we move to our next destination, the Swampstop lodge (packed lunch during the transfer).
    Once arrived, we can make a quick boat cruise which is an opportunity for bird-watching or tiger fishing.

  • Day 4

    Tsodilo

    The whole day is dedicated to visiting Tsodilo Hills, a Unesco site of bushmen’s rock paintings.

    Afterwards we have a picnic lunch. In the late afternoon, we return to the lodge for a shower and an aperitif with sunset light. We dine by the campfire and stay overnight at the lodge.

    Lodge Ngepi

    After having breakfast, we head towards Namibia at lunch time we arrive at Ngepi Lodge, where we can relax in the protected swimming pool in Okavango river, watching hippos and crocodiles.

    In the afternoon we go on safari in a local park to spot lions, giraffes, zebras and wild dogs. We end the day dining at the lodge.

  • Day 6

    Bwabwata

    We travel towards Caprivi strip at the border between Namibia and Botswana : our destination is Bwabwata National Park, a distinguished game reserve.

    On the way we have a stop for lunch. We stay in a community lodge by Kwando river, Namibia.
    Taking a safari at the sunset will cheer you up before the dinner around the campfire.

  • Day 7

     

    Chobe river

    We head to the Chobe National Park at the border between Namibia and Botswana (picnic lunch on the road).

    In the afternoon we arrive at Ngoma Lodge, where we stay overnight. We take a safari by Chobe river at sunset.

  • Day 8

    Chobe National Park

    After waking up and having breakfast at dawn, we take a game safari early in the morning at Chobe National Park, hoping to see leopards, lions, elephants, zebras and giraffes. Afterwards we return to the lodge for a light lunch. We spend the afternoon there, relaxing and sipping a pleasant tea, waiting for our sunset safari. We end our day dining around the campfire.

    Chobe boat cruise

    After early breakfast in the morning, we are on the road the whole day. We stop for a picnic at Kasane, by Chobe river. The highlight of our day is the Chobe boat cruise, during which we can observe elephants, big crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes, kudu and hippos. Admiring the sunset above the river, accompanied with a delightful aperitif, is an unforgettable experience. We return to the Waterlily Lodge to dine and stay overnight.

  • Day 10

    Azambeze Lodge, Victoria Falls and optional daytrips

    Our safari continues in Zambia, where we arrive by bus from Botswana. We stay at Azambeze Lodge, a luxury 5-star resort. Here you can plan your activities which you can easily book from the lodge. The main local sightseeing is Victoria Falls : you can see the falls either from Zambia or Zimbabwe. On your last day a lodge shuttle takes you to the airport for your scheduled return flight.

     

    Day 10
